Abstract: Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder&#xD;
characterized by insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion, leading to&#xD;
persistent hyperglycemia. The global prevalence of T2DM has surged, with India&#xD;
recognized as a major hub for diabetes cases. Microvascular complications such as&#xD;
diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy significantly contribute to&#xD;
morbidity and mortality in diabetic patients. Indices of platelet, including Mean&#xD;
Platelet Volume (MPV) and Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), have emerged as&#xD;
potential biomarkers for assessing microvascular complications and disease&#xD;
progression.&#xD;
Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted with 125 patients&#xD;
diagnosed with T2DM. Clinical records, laboratory reports, and direct patient&#xD;
interviews formed the primary sources of data. Platelet indices, including MPV,&#xD;
PDW, and Platelet Large Cell Ratio (P-LCR), were measured and correlated with&#xD;
microvascular complications and HbA1c levels. Statistical analysis was performed&#xD;
using R version 4.4.0 and Microsoft Excel.</summary>

Abstract: Introduction&#xD;
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a common cause of death from infection.&#xD;
Severity assessment tools like CURB-65 and PSI are used to guide treatment&#xD;
decisions in CAP. The SMART-COP score is a newer tool that predicts the need for&#xD;
intensive respiratory or vasopressor support (IRVS). This study evaluates the use of&#xD;
the SMART-COP score in predicting severity outcomes for patients with CAP.&#xD;
Materials and Methods&#xD;
This was a hospital-based, single-center, cross-sectional study conducted over 12&#xD;
months at a tertiary care center in India. 80 patients aged 18 years and older, admitted&#xD;
with CAP, were included. Data was collected on patient demographics, medical&#xD;
history, clinical parameters, and severity scores (CURB-65, PSI, and SMART-COP).&#xD;
Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 23.</summary>

Abstract: Introduction: Distinguishing between alcoholic liver disease (ALD) and non&#xD;
alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) poses a significant clinical challenge due to overlapping histopathological features, particularly when patient history regarding alcohol consumption is unreliable. The Alcoholic Liver Disease/Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Index (ANI) has emerged as a promising non invasive biomarker to differentiate between these conditions, potentially obviating the need for liver biopsy. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the ANI scoring system in distinguishing ALD from NAFLD in a tertiary care setting.</summary>
