Evaluation of posterior superior alveolar artery using cone beam computed tomography: a retrospective study.

Title: Evaluation of posterior superior alveolar artery using cone beam computed tomography: a retrospective study.
Authors: REG.NO.:IG0222001
Abstract: ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND: The posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA) is a significant branch of the maxillary artery, supplying the maxillary sinus, posterior maxillary teeth, and associated soft tissues. When placing implants in the posterior maxilla, evaluating the relationship between the remaining alveolar bone and the maxillary sinus is necessary.
AIM: To evaluate the position and caliber of the Posterior superior alveolar artery using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.

Virtual exploration of path of Zygomatic implant placement in Relation to lateral wall of maxillary Sinus - a cbct based study

Title: Virtual exploration of path of Zygomatic implant placement in Relation to lateral wall of maxillary Sinus - a cbct based study
Authors: REG NO. IG0221003
Abstract: ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Dental implants today are the most reliable replacement of a missing teeth due
to the property of osseointegration. However in some patients with poor alveolar
bone, dental implants cannot be placed. Various methods of bone grafting has been
given but Zygomatic implants have become a promising alternative because it
acquires anchorage from Zygomatic bone. Zygomatic implant placement can have
either intra-sinus or extra-sinus pathway based on shape of lateral wall of maxillary
sinus.
AIM :
To assess Virtual Zygomatic implant placement pathway in relation to shape
of lateral wall of maxillary sinus.
OBJECTIVE :
To assess placement of Virtual Zygomatic implant - Extra-sinus or Intra-sinus
in relation to shape of lateral wall of maxillary sinus.

Title: Radiographic Assessment Of Anatomical Variation Of Nasopalatine Canal In Patients Attending Tertiary Care Center Using Cbct - A Prospective Study.
Authors: REG.NO:IG0221002
Abstract: ABSTRACT:
Background: Anatomical variations exist between males and females in the anterior region of maxillary jaw and thorough knowledge of these structures is essential in planning of any surgeries to avoid any potential complications. An accurate diagnosis and course of therapy may be achieved with the use of (CBCT) evaluation of critical anatomical structures.
Aim and objectives: The current study assesses the morphometric features of the (NPC), the diameters of the incisive and Stenson's foramen (IF and SF), and the thickness of the buccal bone (BBT) in various age groups and gender.

Title: Evaluating and comparing bony defects onn Human dry mandibles with cbct images and 3d Printed models – an in vitro study.
Authors: REG.NO:IG0221001
Abstract: ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
A cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has proven to be an effective tool in dental
diagnosis and treatment planning due to its accuracy and reliability. The 3D printing process
creates objects one layer at a time by adding layers. A more accurate, customized, and
effective approach to healthcare is provided by the combination of CBCT and 3D printing,
which improves treatment results and patient satisfaction.
AIM:
To evaluate the accuracy of CBCT images and 3D-printed models acquired by CBCT
imaging.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
By using cylindrical burs, bilateral circumferential bone defects were created on 10 dry
human mandibles on symphysis and parasymphysis regions. Later, CBCT scans were
performed on dry mandibles. The scanned images were exported in DICOM format and then
converted into STL files, which are used as a format for 3D printing. The measurements were
done using the Sidexis tool on CBCT, using a digital vernier caliper on dry mandibles and 3D
models, followed by a statistical analysis of the data.
