T Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the role of Polyherbal formulation (PHF) in secondary complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus using animal models. Background:Nutraceuticals refers to natural functional/ medicinal foods or bioactive phytochemicals that have health promoting, disease preventing or medicinal properties. Herbal drugs are gaining acceptance worldwide because of their effectiveness, lesser side effects and relatively low cost. In view of the benefits that it offers, several proprietary PHF are available for use, therefore, investigating the role of PHF for their therapeutic utility is important and desirable to provide a rational basis for its employability in metabolic disorders like diabetes mellitus.en_US
