| Abstract: | ABSTRACT: INTRODUCTION: Endotracheal intubation is a standard airway management used to achieve and maintain a definitive airway in patients undergoing general anaesthesia(GA) surgery. Endotracheal tube cuff pressure causes increased airway secretions, mucosal irritation, and post-operative sore throat [POST]. Enhanced postoperative outcomes are now possible following recent breakthroughs in anaesthesia. This study is undertaken to evaluate efficacy of preservative free lignocaine, preservative free alkalinised lignocaine and ketamine in minimising POST. AIM: To evaluate the 3 drugs in preventing incidence and severity of sore throat post operatively, voice hoarseness ,cough and to evaluate hemodynamics at extubation. |
