Abstract: Background: Oral Lichen Planus (OLP) is a common potentially malignant mucocutaneous disorder associated with chronic inflammation and cell-mediated immunological dysfunction. The current main stay of treatment is the administration of topical or systemic corticosteroids which are known to cause certain side-effects. Nigella sativa oil that is traditionally known to have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, wound healing, and antioxidant properties is gaining attention due to its minimal or no side effects. Aim: To evaluate and to compare the efficacy of Nigella sativa (75 % w/v) cream and Clobetasol propionate (0.05 % w/w) gel for the management of Oral Lichen Planus.
