Abstract: BACK GROUND Shivering is most common complication following general anesthesia. The primary cause of post-anesthesia shivering is the peri-operative hypothermia. Shivering primarily increases oxygen consumption, which is detrimental to people with low cardiac reserve. The intracranial pressure and intraocular pressure increase when you shiver. In the current study, we evaluated the effectiveness of Tramadol and Dexmedetomidine injections to prevent post-anesthesia shivering in patients undergoing general anesthesia for surgery.
