Abstract: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Adolescence is an interim phase of growth and development between childhood and adulthood and is a susceptible period in the human life for various problems. Anaemia was identified as the most significant nutritional problem. Globally, anaemia affects around 1.62 billion people. The prevalence of anaemia among adolescent girls in India according to National Family Health Survey - 5 was 59.1% and 49.4% in Karnataka. Even though several initiatives are implemented by government to tackle this issue, outcome of the various studies indicated that still, anaemia is prevalent in many rural areas of India. This cross-sectional study determines the prevalence of anaemia and the knowledge level in late adolescent girls to estimate the actual burden of anaemia.
