Abstract: Background: A dysregulated host response to infection results in sepsis, and severe organ failure that puts life in danger. Phospholipase A2 is a new marker in diagnosis of sepsis and is also elevated in infections. Hardly few studies were done regarding the biomarker especially regarding its capacity to diagnose sepsis. The objective of the current study was to measure the phospholipase A2 levels in sepsis patients and contrast them with their procalcitonin levels.
