| Abstract: | Background and Objective: Prothrombotic coagulopathy is a characteristic feature of severe COVID-19 leading to multiorgan failure and death. Extensive pulmonary vascular microthrombi with relatively preserved lung compliance has been described to be a critical factor for refractory hypoxemia in severe COVID-19. This study is done to assess the effect of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator in severe COVID-19 patients associated with hypoxemia refractory to standard line of treatment. |
