| Abstract: | Background and aims 6 mercaptopurine (MP) forms backbone of maintenance chemotherapy for ALL, which typically lasts for 2 to 2.5 years. As with any long-term therapy, poor adherence is serious impediment in 6 MP maintenance treatment, which may impact outcome. Indeed, COG study found 3.9 fold increased risk of relapse in children with 6 MP adherence of less than 90%. There are no studies regarding adherence to 6MP from India. Hence, we studied prevalence of non- adherence to 6 MP and impact of use of electronic pill box on it, in our cohort on maintenance chemotherapy |
