Abstract: Background: The female genital tract is a vital reproductive organ and a hormone responsive system. The configuration changes throughout life as hormone levels change, making it prone to developing a variety of non-neoplastic and neoplastic conditions. Hysterectomy is the commonest gynecological surgery done for the management of the pathologies of the female reproductive system. Aim: To study the histopathological lesions of hysterectomy specimens, the distribution of different lesions in relation to age, and to evaluate histopathological findings in relation to preoperative clinical diagnosis
