| Abstract: | Background Preeclampsia (PE) in pregnancy is a serious cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common source of inflammatory burden on the mother in pregnancy, as inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of PE when the body cannot compensate for this extra inflammatory burden, PE becomes more likely. With appropriate screening and treatment of UTI, this morbidity can be significantly reduced. Objective To find an association between urinary tract infection and Preeclampsia. |
