| Abstract: | INTRODUCTION: HIV/AIDS is a global health issue. Globally 38.4 million people are living with HIV in 2021.54% of the people are women and girls. India is the country with third highest population with HIV/AIDS. Nearly 2.4 million people were living with HIV infection by 2021. Adults account to 97% of the total infections whereas children account for 3%. WHO has developed sustainable development goals to achieve health for all through its Goal 3. According to SDG, Goal 3.3 aims to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030. In order to achieve this goal, pregnant women should be well aware about the HIV infection, modes of transmission, prevention methods , treatment available. In order to achieve SDG it is important to know the knowledge and attitude of pregnant women towards the disease so that effective measures to be taken to achieve the SDG goals. Primary Objective – To assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of HIV / AIDS among antenatal women attending the antenatal clinic at a tertiary care center. Materials and Methods: study was conducted on 420 pregnant women who attended the antenatal clinic at Dr.Prabhakar kore hospital irrespective of parity and period of gestation from January 2022 to September 2022.Basic details of the subject like demographic details, age , educational status, occupation, SES are noted and interviewed with the help of predesigned questionnaire to assess their knowledge, attitude and practice towards HIV/AIDS. The obtained data is analysed. |
