Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a severe infectious disease that significantly impacts global health.1 Molecular fingerprinting studies have provided the evidence that the probability of developing the disease among infected is 45% within the first year, 62% within two years, and 83% within five years.6 For the majority who receive Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT), their overall health is good, making it imperative to ensure minimal side effects from the treatment to maintain their adherence.10. Objective: To determine the incidence of tuberculosis among household contacts undergoing tuberculosis preventive treatment.
