| dc.description.abstract | AIM: To estimate risk of CVD in patients living with HIV by using ASCVD score and to compare ASCVD score with Framingham score in estimating the CVD risk. BACKGROUND: Individuals with HIV are increasingly experiencing fewer infectious issues. However, over time, there’s a noticeable rise in the incidence of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disorders, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and renal diseases as causes of mortality among this population. HIV associated immune dysfunction and chronic inflammation along with risk factors like high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, diabetes, alcohol, smoking, ART regimen are predisposing for CVD. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present cross sectional study was conducted among patient more than 18 years of age fulfilling inclusion criteria admitted in KLE DR.PRABHAKAR KORE HOSPITAL, BELAGAVI from 1st January 2023 Till 31st December 2023. Patients were assessed for physical biochemical examination after obtaining informed consent, the blood of the patient were analysed for dyslipidemia which include fasting lipid profile. All patients' data were collected. Patients redesigned performa and entered in excel sheet. The entire study was carried out using SPSS software, version 22 with a p-value threshold of 0.05 being considered statistically significant. | en_US |
