| Abstract: | Introduction Currently 1.3 billion people have hypertension globally. Almost half of the population with hypertension is not aware of their condition. In India, the prevalence of hypertension among men and women were reported as 24% and 21% respectively from the National Family Health Survey - 5 (NFHS-5) which was conducted in the year 2019-2020. The study aimed to estimate the proportion of patients with hypertension attaining target blood pressure. This study also aimed to compare the profile of two groups of patients who have and have not attained target blood pressure in aspects of patient factor, socio-economic status and education in order to prevent hypertensive retinopathy and stroke. |
