Abstract: ABSTRACT Introduction: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a severe nosocomial infection in ICU settings, especially when caused by multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical profile, risk factors, resistance patterns, and prognostic indicators in patients with VAP due to A. baumannii. Materials and Methods: A one-year cross-sectional study (January 2023 – December 2023) was conducted at KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital. 68 patients with culture-confirmed VAP were included. Data on demographics, clinical characteristics, and resistance patterns were collected. Prognostic scores, including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), APACHE II, Q-SOFA, and SAPS II, were analyzed for mortality prediction.
