Abstract: ABSTRACT Background: Thrombocytopenia is a common hematological condition during pregnancy, second only to anemia, affecting approximately 6–15% of pregnancies. The condition is associated with varied maternal and neonatal outcomes depending on its severity and underlying causes. However, limited data exist on its prevalence and impact in the Indian population during late-stage pregnancy. Objectives: The primary objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of thrombocytopenia in pregnant women during the late third trimester (32–40 weeks). Secondary objectives included identifying its causes, severity, and maternal and fetal outcomes.
