Abstract: BACKGROUND: Malignant lesions with similar morphology as bone might be clinically hamper the diagnosis on plain radiography. Might need unnecessary bone excision or poor prognosis due to mislead diagnosis. Hence, the most reliable radiological investigation would be needed to sort this. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the efficacy of preoperative imaging in the assessment of tumor depth of invasion (DOI) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and correlate with histopathological findings and assess the accuracy of imaging-based estimation of DOI in relation with the tumor histological DOI
