Abstract: Background Metabolic health, influenced by dietary and lifestyle factors, plays a crucial role in preventing chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disorders and type 2 diabetes. Medical students, due to their demanding academic schedules, irregular eating habits, and high stress levels, are particularly vulnerable to metabolic disturbances. However, limited research has focused on their metabolic health in relation to dietary patterns. This study aimed to assess and compare metabolic parameters—including lipid profiles, fasting blood glucose, and anthropometric indices—among medical students following different dietary patterns (vegetarian, lacto-ovo-vegetarian, and nonvegetarian) while evaluating the influence of lifestyle factors.
