| Abstract: | ABSTRACT Biochemical Changes in Individuals of High BMI with special reference to Medho Sara (Excellence of Adipose Tissue) and Sthaulya (Obesity) Background: Obesity, or Sthaulya, is a major public health issue, especially in India, where the swift epidemiological change has increased obesity-related ailments. Traditional Ayurvedic principles, such as Medho Sara (the superiority of adipose tissue), offer a foundation for comprehending the physiological and pathological conditions of body fat. It is essential to differentiate between Medho Sara and Sthaulya for precise diagnosis and therapy; yet, prevailing therapeutic procedures frequently overlook these distinctions due to an absence of objective signs. Objective: The objective of this study is to examine the biochemical alterations linked to Medho Sara and Sthaulya in persons with elevated Body Mass Index (BMI). The main objectives are evaluating indicators associated with Medho Sara and Sthaulya, investigating biochemical alterations, and analysing the correlation between body fat percentage, lipid profiles, blood glucose levels, and anthropometric measurements. |
